Tope in Jaco!

Annual Tope en Jaco took place today, as thousands of onlookers watched horses with real Costa Rican cowboys riding them through the streets. Based on an old tradition and occurring once a year in each town in Costa Rica, Tope is a fun event for all ages.

The event draws a lot of Costa Ricans from San Jose and the Central Valley who like to come to Jaco Beach and Playa Hermosa, the gem of the Central Pacific, nearby. The new road, route 27, is now open from San Jose to Jaco and makes the trip easy.

Red Bull Surf Team Rips it Up in front of Marea Brava Hotel

Marea Brava Beachfront Hotel and Condos was pleased to host the Red Bull Jr. Surf Team, surfing in competitions and free-surfs right in front of Marea Brava Hotel here in Playa Hermosa.

With all ages and a good showing of young people, the Red Bull Surf Team ripped it up, surfing for a few hours in front of the hotel and getting some photos. These kids can surf! We had a chance to catch up with Carlos, one of the young groms: "I just like to surf, every day" - well put young man!

We are proud of these young surfers and the new generation of surfers coming up here in Costa Rica. Check us out next year at Marea Brava Beachfront Hotel, where another Red Bull Jr. Tournament will take place.

The night clubs in Jaco are great, the little beach clubs in Playa Hermosa are also fun and a bit more laid back. A few are near our hotel, or hang out pool site ad Marea Brava and just enjoy the view of the ocean and mountains.
